A professional athlete, coach, cancer survivor, and inspirational speaker/author, Chuck Bushbeck leads dynamic conversations with various well-known and not-so-well-known sports and entertainment heroes as they detail their life journey in success and failure, which against popular belief, is hardly ever a simple and easy rise to fame. In an era of the Shark Tanks and Apprentices, American Idols and X Factors, we are inundated with overnight success stories; they make it look easy. Chuck Bushbeck LIVE addresses the humorous and heartfelt details of what it truly takes to be a success in sports and entertainment.
About Chuck…
Rarely without a smile on his face, one would never know the things Chuck Bushbeck has faced and overcome throughout his life. The zealous and warm host of the show is an athlete, trainer, mindset mastery coach, entrepreneur, cancer survivor, father of three and inspirational speaker/author.
A Philadelphia native, Chuck is a graduate of Villanova University. As a freshman placekicker on the football team he received a full scholarship. Then as a senior, when Villanova cut their football program, Bushbeck was forced to transfer to East Carolina. Though leaving his first school was not in his plans, he was listed as a pre-season All-American and in the running to be drafted into the NFL.
At this time, Chuck was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease, a potentially fatal lymphatic form of cancer. Despite being advised to sit out while undergoing treatments, Bushbeck’s tenacity was ignited as he didn’t want to quit on his team or himself. With the help of his coach, various friends and administrators, he continued playing, and began to understand the power of the mind on the body. He believed he could play beyond the symptoms and pain, and pushed forward. His vision was to play in the pros and nothing, not even a health issue, was going to stop him.
By 1985, he achieved his goal of playing professionally and signed with the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League (USFL). Bushbeck has played alongside stars such as Howie Long and Reggie White, and was featured on ABC’s Wide World of Sports for his amazing ability to play when others would quit.
Knowing that the mind is the biggest battlefield to overcome, he today trains others to reach their potential and go beyond what they or others think is possible. Bushbeck has developed the Full Armor “Programmed to Win” 5-step plan to take just about anyone from dreaming to living the reality of a fuller life, all by mastering the mind. Through his training more than 20 players have been drafted into Major League Baseball, including two 1st round draft picks. He has also coached business professionals and everyday people to take control of their lives and reach their personal goals.
